Overview
Our client in North York is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Road Import/Export Coordinator to join their dynamic team, and will be providing training.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the logistics and coordination of international shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sourcing, freight management, and warehouse distribution processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the import/export operation, ensure accurate processing of paperwork to minimize errors.
  • Complete accurate reports as requested by management and customers.
  • Provide shipment information for import/export customers
  • Good comprehension and ability to learn from provided training
  • Procure necessary materials and services for shipping and receiving operations.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory levels, manage stock locations, and streamline warehouse processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and freight forwarders to negotiate prices and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Oversee transportation management systems to optimize shipping routes and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs documentation.
  • Assist in the training of warehouse staff on best practices for shipping and receiving operations.
  • Operate forklifts as needed for loading and unloading goods within the warehouse.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Formal Academic Training in related field (CITT or CIFFA preferred) and related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Brampton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Import/Export Coordinator: 1 year (required)
